Making plans

Saturday morning started out like any other. Chores needed to be done and my time looked to be filling up with all the usual items. Planning, shopping, cooking and on top of that the garden needed some attention. And the pressure of “having fun” on the long weekend. Everyone seems to ask what you did, and when the reply is all the stuff we usually do on the weekend, the looks of sympathy are quite funny.

So just to change things up a bit, I recruited my family to help, at least with the planning. Everyone had good ideas and pretty soon the chores were all being divided up! Later in the day once it was close to dinner time, I discovered that my husband had made not only his famous chili but desert as well. Normally rice krispie squares are nothing to get excited about, but he added chocolate chunks. The combination is delicious. People say that food tastes better when someone else makes it, and I usually don’t agree, but this time his cooking is tops!

Since we got ahead on chores yesterday, today went a bit smoother. The sun came out in the afternoon and I got to have my 5 o’clock sit in the sun!

    Reminds me of 5 o’clock up on the Sonnendeck at the cabin. We were at the cabin for the long week-end. It has been so dry here that there was a fire ban. Can you imagine an evening at L&B’s with no fire going? The next day it started to rain a bit, and today it rained more steadily. Then it was too wet for a fire…
